Linda

A twin of Winnie — same V-8 turbo, same Crosswind chassis, same year. Royvan recognized her engine across a valley near Arborolus and knew it instantly: “You can pick a Crosswind out of a parking lot of two-strokes. That’s Winnie’s twin.”

We have not seen Linda in the open. We have only heard her engine and seen her headlights.

What We Know (Session 7)

• Engine: V-8 turbo, Crosswind chassis (matching Winnie’s exactly)
• Behavior: Linda’s headlights flickered on across the valley, held for 3 seconds, then snapped off — possibly a signal, possibly a taunt, possibly just confirming she’s there
• She is in the valley near Arborolus, ahead of us or alongside us
• Per Tarine’s instinct, Linda is carrying Proctors

Why She’s Following Us

Unknown. Possibilities the table has theorized:

• The Grove knows about the Star Atlas and is racing us to the next nodes
• Linda is connected to Lyndon Gravelli (we left him in Hollow Creek; could he be aboard?)
• Linda is a Grove pursuit vehicle dispatched after we fled Wendell’s Landing
• Something else

Open Questions

• Who or what is driving Linda?
• Is the resemblance to Winnie coincidence, surveillance, or something stranger?
• Will she catch us at Arborolus, or beat us there?
